1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, phone number.
- Payment information: billing details handled by our secure payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
- Support communications: messages you send to [email protected], to our WhatsApp desk, or through the contact form.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, subscription status.
- Device information: device type, operating system, IBO Player version.
- IP address: used for region detection, fraud prevention and service delivery.
- Cookies: session cookies for authentication and analytics cookies for service improvement (see section 6).
1.3 Information we do not collect
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as government identification numbers, biometric data, or financial account details beyond what payment processing requires.
2. How we use your information
- Deliver the service: activate and manage your subscription, authenticate your device, stream content.
- Process payments: complete transactions and issue receipts.
- Provide support: answer questions, troubleshoot and resolve disputes.
- Improve the service: analyse usage patterns to improve performance and catalogue coverage.
- Send service communications: account confirmations and important updates. We do not send unsolicited marketing.
- Prevent fraud and abuse: detect and block unauthorised account sharing.
- Meet legal obligations: respond to lawful requests from authorities in Canada.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Legal basis for processing
- Contract performance: processing needed to deliver your subscription.
- Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, security and analytics.
- Legal obligation: compliance with applicable law in Canada.
- Consent: where we explicitly ask for it.
4. Data sharing
We share data only with payment processors (to complete transactions securely), infrastructure providers (hosting and CDN partners acting under data-processing agreements), and legal authorities where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Channelux and its users. All processors are contractually barred from using your data for their own marketing.

After the retention period data is permanently deleted or anonymised.
6. Cookies
Essential cookies are required for sessions and site functionality and cannot be disabled. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors navigate https://channelux.ca; you can opt out through your browser settings. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
7. Your rights
Depending on your province and applicable law in Canada, you may have the right to access the data we hold, correct inaccurate data, delete your data subject to legal retention requirements, restrict or object to certain processing, request portability in a machine-readable format, and withdraw consent where processing is based on it. To exercise any right, write to [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
8. Data security
We use TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive account information, access controls limiting who can view personal data, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure; in the event of a breach affecting your rights we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law in Canada.
9. Children's privacy
The service is not directed at children under 13, or the applicable age of digital consent in Canada. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has supplied us with data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
10. International transfers
Your data is processed and stored in secure data centres. Where data is transferred outside Canada, appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections are applied.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always published at https://channelux.ca/privacy.html with a revised "last updated" date. For material changes we will notify you on WhatsApp or with a prominent notice on the site.
